The round purple marks cupping leaves on the skin come from suction, not from a knock. I use the cups inside a therapeutic massage session, at your address.

Where it comes from
Cupping uses suction cups on the skin to work on circulation and to loosen muscular tension. It is a practice from Chinese medicine, the same field I lean on to think about prevention rather than one-off relief.
Cupping does not replace medical care. I work for relief from muscular pain, less stress and a better quality of life, not to treat illness.
The cups go inside the session, not alongside it
Cupping goes inside a therapeutic massage session. On its own I do not do it.
You tell me what is bothering you. We agree on WhatsApp where the tension is worst, and I plan which points the cups go on.
I place the cups on the tense points. The details of the technique I explain during the session.
The marks appear straight away. Before I leave I explain what they are and what to expect from them over the next days.
The round marks
The round marks that stay behind come from suction, not from a blow. They last 3 a 7 days on average, depending on how sensitive your skin is. I wrote about the colour, the intensity and how long they take to fade in the article on cupping marks.
What almost everyone asks before a first cupping session
Does it hurt?
The feeling is suction and pressure on the skin, different from the pain of a knock. Some tighter points are uncomfortable for the first few seconds, especially the first time.
Can I have only the cupping?
Cupping on its own I do not do. It always goes inside another massage. With the therapeutic massage that is 75 minutes for R$ 300, travel included.
How long do the marks last?
3 a 7 days on average, depending on how sensitive your skin is. If you have something coming up where you would rather not have them, tell me before we book.
Who should not have cupping?
I do not use cups on anyone with a clotting disorder, on anticoagulants, with thrombosis or thrombophlebitis, over raised varicose veins at that spot, with a fever, with an infection, over an open wound or over very fragile skin. If any of that applies to you, tell me before booking.
